Yep, good ole Northern New Mexico red chile and ristras. One of the things I miss about the fall in NM. Texas doesn't have such things, unless they're imported from NM!

Melissa, if you missed it, they did get together on the last episode. I was getting tired of this as well. The show was getting too serious compared to the previous years.

That sort of thing can really piss a girl off. I completely understand her demonic change

Anya was a former Vengeance Demon when Xander left her at the altar. She was a former Vengeance Demon because she lost her powers when Giles stole her necklace (she had come to grant a wish for Cordelia because Cordelia caught Xander kissing Willow, but Cordelia wished that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale and that had horrible repercussions).

Anyway, someone that Anya had cursed came to the wedding and told Xander that he was Xander from the future and that he shouldn't marry Anya. He even showed him images of his life if he married Anya, and he hurt Anya in the vision and then Xander left. (You see Xander's family wasn't "high quality" and he didn't want to ruin Anya's life by being like his family.)

Err.... maybe I watch too much televion

Regular season stuff-
1 - West Wing (yes, I know it's fiction, but DANG those people know a lot of little trivia things...)
2 - Ed (last season got kinda weird. We'll have to see.)
3 - ER (I like the medical stuff in it, not the soap opera "who's sleeping with whom?" parts)

Watch anytime -
1 - Moments in History (Wow! Encylcopedia Britanica meets National Geographic)
2 - Good Eats (FoodTV) (Lots of good info about the why's, not just the how's.)
3 - Monster Garage (who needs duct tape when you have a welder and lots of freebies!)

With PVR (like TiVo, but built into the satalite receiver), I haven't seen more than two commercials in the last 4-5 months. Just skip right through 'em. I get to watch anytime, not just when it's broadcast.

(Now if I could do that with the radio. Maybe a monster jukebox...)

Do you know the way to ...
1. Sharks hockey - even though they sucked big time last season
1a. NHL 2night - although Bucci gets on my nerves sometimes, and what was with the sporadic schedule last season?
2. Stargate SG-1 - hey, what do you expect from a former Astro-Physics major?
3. Anything I TiVo'd that sounded good on the schedule

Absolutely LOVE my TiVo. Watch what I want, when I want. FF through the commercials. Pause to go to the little girls' room or answer the phone. If a hockey game starts before I get home from work, I can catch up on the goals I missed.

Keeping in mind that I've never watched Buffy - that description sounds like someone spoofing a soap opera storyline. I can't even think of anything sillier to add to it!!

TV stinks and is getting worse everyday. Slowly, even seemingly harmless sitcoms have sunk to a level of depravity like we have never seen. I can't find much to recommend.

But the beauty of TV is that you can read a book and keep up with the shows - that's what I do - have a book going at all times!!

think about turning off the television:

1) Number of TV commercials viewed by American children a year: 20,000
2) Age by which children can develop brand loyalty: 2
3) Number of TV commercials seen by the average American by age 65: 2 million
4) Percentage of toy advertising dollars spent on television commercials in 1997: 92
5) Percentage of local TV news broadcast time devoted to advertising: 30
6) Total amount of money spent in 1999 to advertise on broadcast television: $40 billion
7) Net worth of the typical middle-class American household after accounting for debts: less than $10,000
8) Number of ads aired for “junk-food” during four hours of Saturday morning cartoons: 202
9) Percentage of American children who were seriously overweight in 1964: 5; 1994: 13
10) Percentage of young people who report having had no recent physical activity: 14
11) Factor by which men who watch more than 21 hours of TV a week increase their risk of Type 2 diabetes: 2
12) Percentage of pediatric diabetes cases that are now Type 2, (adult-onset), not Type 1 (juvenile-onset): 30

Commercials? That's why God invented the VCR.

Actually I'd like to ask since we're being examined starting next week. How did it go and how were the new procedures? You can PM me if you'd like. I'd appreciate any information.

My father was career Air Force. When I was going into the 8th grade, he was transferred to Pease AFB in Portsmouth, NH. He wound up retiring from the AF there, and I stayed in NH until I graduated from high school. I was in band in HS, and every year we got to go down to Foxboro and play at halftime at one of the Patriots' home games. The first year we went was in 1971, which was the year they drafted Jim Plunkett with the #1 pick in the draft. It was also the year they first moved to Foxboro and opened what was then called Schaefer Stadium. I've been cursed/blessed with a lifelong membership in Patriot Nation since then. I was extremely happy a couple of years ago when they won the Super Bowl, but the pain of the other two SBs and of the 1-15 season in '90 and the 2-14 seasons in '81 and '92 is still pretty vivid, too.
