Oh and they have Adair, OK pronounced A (long A) dair. Drives me nuts.

Drain, OR Boring, OR Halfway, OR
And then there are the woods west of Staunton, VA, where the Bull Pasture River and the Cow Pasture River come together, forming . . . yup, the Calf Pasture River.

We have a Halfway, KY too. It's halfway between Bowling Green and Scottsville.

Oh.....no one (that i know) says uh-dair. That would sound odd to my ears. That's because you have odd Okie ears. In Missouri (not Mizurah) it is Ah dair.

There is a Halfway Missouri too but it isn't half way between anything important.

"ah dair" sounds even funnier than "uh dair" to my odd Okie ears. Oh.....but i do agree that "Mizurah" sounds weird too.

We have Sandwich, IL And I hate when people say Illinoise instead of Illinois!

I can't believe nobody has mentioned this one yet: Elephant Butte, NM I'm catching up with TJ! I've been here many times. Named for a rock formation in the middle of the lake Pic of the "elephant" here It's also just down the road from Truth or Consequences! And we didn't call it Elephant Butte in college - we left just one little letter off the end... How about No Agua, NM? It's a really dry heat!

So bummed you got that one before me! I live just south of there. There's a college out there & there's a sign that says "College/Weed" with arrows pointing in opposite directions. Also the brewery's tag line is "Try Legal Weed" - went through quite the legal battle before he won.

I have been to Muleshoe, TX for my wife's family reunion.
I live in Cumming, GA. Don't ask me what the residents are called, I don't know. The Chamber of Commerce was going to have a fund raiser where the local restaurants would set up booths and you buy tickets to sample the food. It was almost named Taste of Cumming before saner heads prevaled.

I have relatives in Cumming, GA.
How about Rio Grande, OH; which is obviously nowhere near the actual river. Better yet is how its pronounced. "Rye-oh" grand. Got an interesting story about that on my first day at college there.
