You know, that's a pretty personal question......
(I roast ours. In the oven. Although this year I am thinking of chucking it all and just picking up Red Hot & Blue's smoked turkey.)

I shoot it, field dress it and give it to the wife. Then she does a bunch of stuff. Then I eat it.

Inject with a blend of melted butter and chicken broth then deep fry in peanut oil.
The in-laws soak theirs overnight in Texas Pete and then deep fry.

We make 2 turkeys (for 7 people)... but my husband had to have a deep fried and my MIL wants one from the oven.
So, we have lots of leftovers.
(Not to mention all the side dishes I have to make!)

Actually, I already had one t-giving this year and my aunt brined/brind (sp?) the turkey.
It was pretty darn good.

We stuff it with a cornbread and pecan stuffing, then make sage butter that gets stuffed under the skin, then baste every 30 mins with maple syrup, then for the last hour, cover it with bacon.
It's delicious

I wait for that little red thingy to pop up, all the while panicking that it didn't pop up so it must be broken, so I reach in and poke on it to see if it will pop up and it never does until it does and then it's done. Voila. Turkey.

I've never had deep fried turkey so I can only imagine how good it is.
Home Depot has an oil less turkey fryer.
