I haven't read this thread, except for a couple of comments about the Johnny Cash *cover* of Trent Reznor's "Hurt." (Definitely a cover, not a remix.)

However...

A great remix is the entire Beatles "Love" used by cirque soleil. It was remixed by George Martin's son (Christopher?). To me the best moments are when "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" morphs into the outro for "She's So Heavy," or layering Ringo's vocals from "Yellow Submarine" on top of the track from "Goodnight." Great stuff!
