More of a pet peeve, but why do drivers feel a need to run red lights? It seems to be the "norm" around here! I witnessed a two-car accident as I arrived at work today due to this...no injuries, thankfully.

You do not drive? I can say most drivers in my town do not run red lights but we have a few yahoos that like to think they made it on the yellow even when they are not even in the intersection yet when it goes red. And to make it even safer they try not to look at the other drivers on the road lest they realize they are driving like a (not good driver)!!

There is one STOP sign in my mother's neighborhood that doesn't work.

Our HOA has a Facebook page. Running stop signs is the number one topic. (Stray pets is #2, coyotes #3.)

MBH, I would think problem #3 would reduce problem #2.

Come to Washington...we have bees...millions of them on I-5:

A semitruck rolled early Friday, spilling a load of honeybees on the Interstate 5 median at the Interstate 405 interchange near Lynnwood.

Beekeepers were at the crash site within an hour of the 3:30 a.m. crash to try to round up the honeybees, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).



As temperatures warmed and the bees became agitated, firefighters killed the bees by spraying a mixture of foam and water on the hives that hadn’t been recovered by beekeepers, said Sgt. Ben Lewis of the State Patrol.


“Everybody’s been stung,” Lewis said.

Our Assistant Compliance Officer just installed a beehive at his house last week - and is installing a second one tomorrow. From what he's told me it's quite interesting - those and his 10 chickens. AND he lives in town.

My hubby wants a hive really bad. He's planted a bunch of flowering trees this spring so he can buy an established hive next spring. They really are fascinating creatures.

There sure are a lot of empty condom boxes in this neighborhood....

I do too. I love bees.
