was at an adult drinking establishment this weekend...ordered a Mexican beer, and the bartender says "you want lime in it" to which I said "oh heck no". he said "good, because if you'd said yes I would have told you go to another bar, we don't fruit beer here!"

Mexicans wipe off the top of the bottle with lime to sanitize it. Lime juice allegedly kills germs. But since the limes are sometimes not washed, you may not want to insert the lime in the bottle. Having said that, a couple weeks ago I drank about six dozen Mexican beers with lime in them in a week with no adverse affects.
