Have you decided what your New Year resolutions will be?

Does it really matter anyway? I mean, how many people actually keep theirs? I make them and then break them

Actually, I have not had a soft drink in 5 days! I am so addicted to one in particular, but I find that I feel so much better when I dont drink them. and 5 days if pretty dog gone good. I usually dont make it past 3.

In 2006, the only tobacco I'll smoke..and I'm not joking here, is a good cigar. Very partial right now to these hand-rolled Sambucca numbers around Rochester.

I am going to try to quit drinking sodas, and start exercising again. Exercising was my new years resolution last year, and I did it until the end of August. I have to start doing something, because I am getting fat.

And I say this every year, and never can get through the year: try to get into the habit of wearing underpants much more often.

I'm going to try to keep my house clean. I've let it get so bad that I just don't want to go home any more. So my resolutions are things like do the dishes after ever meal, laundry once a week not just when we run out of socks and underware...

My first resolution for '06; I resolve to take the stairs at work, rather than the elevator. I’m going to see if I can’t stay out of the elevator the entire year.

My office is on the 3rd floor but I also have need to visit the floors above and below me. The only exception, if I am transporting bunches of loan files elevator use is OK!

My resolution...get DSL.

Mine is regardless of how bad a day I may have had at work, when I walk in the door to my house and am met by the chaos that 3 kids and a frazzled wife can bring, that I will breathe deep, smile, and try to enjoy that window of time with my family, regardless of what moods the twins, or the pre-teen or the frazzled wife are in. I resolve to try to accomplish this for at least 75% of the days I work.

My resolution is to not let the people who just want to start a fight on here get to me. Because if I respond to thier attacks, that makes me no better than they are.

Mine is to exercise less and drink more. I wanted it to be something that I could actually attain.

My new year resolutions are to not make any new years resolutions............then I wont have to worry if I disappoint myself.

I read an article that said you shouldn't make New Year's Resolutions - you should set specific, measurable, obtainable goals. They should be written down where you can track them, you should share them with a friend to help hold you accountable and you should be willing to adjust them if you see that they were too ambitious - not throw it out the window but make adjustments. We should set goals just like we do at work and track our progress.

I believe I'll set three personal goals for this new year - that shouldn't be overwhelming. Who wants to partner and keep me on track?

New Years Resolution:

Balance my check book more often. I've slacked so much since I started working in a bank... I mean...heck, everyday I can check on my account.

I resolve:

To be nicer in my posts on BOL.

To be nicer to strangers in the street.

To buy an extra meal at lunch and give it to a homeless person.

To hone my vodka infusions and work on patenting the pumpkin one.

I'm going to get back into reading and trying to understand the Bible and try to be nicer to people.

The good thing for me is, I have a few more days where I can practice and if I fail I know where to work harder in the new year.

I resolve:

To make a decision about my next job/career path. My "limbo time" is almost up.

To work on going with the flow, lots of big changes are headed my way in 2010.

To appreciate my friends more, I am lucky to have them and should make sure they know it.

To have more contact with some of my family. Face to face visits might not be possible, I want to call, email or send cards so they know that I care.

I resolve to make the best of the new opportunity I have been given in a brand new year. I can start over in many areas and I can work to improve in others. But, it is my daily choices that will determine how well I use the opportunities...I resolve to be able to look back on 2010 with joy and not disappointment.

I will walk closer with my Lord and involve Him in my choices. I will attempt to love as He loved and respond as He would have me respond. I resolve to accept forgiveness for my failures and to forgive myself and others. We are only human, after all.

Get back on tract with the WW healthy eating (lose the 5lbs I gained thank you )

Get back on that stupid stationay bike at least 3 times a week. When weather permits get the morning walk in with the dog - - that may not happen till April or May with the weather we have had in the Chicago area so far this winter.

I resolve to tell people who resolve to exercise not to do it. Those hords of people come to the gym and clog up the classes, but by February, they've lost their resolve and quit coming. January is horrible at the gym.

As a side note.....then hords of women come back in March thinking they'll get that swimsuit figure in 3 weeks.....doesn't work, they leave. March is horrible at the gym.

You'd think these people would finally figure it out. Exercise year round.....quit eating so much. Oooooo...was that a tirade?
