I contribute to other charities, so I don't think I will join you. (CTF, March of Dimes, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society)

I think that his work with kids and Cancer issues is great, but some people aren't going to support his cause because of the comments he made.

Fighting cancer is a cause that is very close to my heart, so I do hope that he raises a lot of money for the cause.
It is a difficult position though, there are so many worth while cancer organizations that people may just pick another one because they are uncomfortable with what he had to say.
Is that a good reason? Not really, but money is a really personal issue for most people, so it might be a factor.

this might be his last one he said this morning... I feel like he deserves to raise as much money as he can so the kids don't suffer from the corporations backing out... wow. let's just hope that the donors will still donate the money for the cause and not for the publicity. i think we can do a more than adequate job of creating bad pr for those corps that don't donate because it is not through the imus conduit.

Racism in any form shouldn't be tolerated. If Al Sharpton really wants to be a role model to the community, he should apologize for his comments as well.

I agree that his remarks were not defensible.
Fortunately, Rev. Sharpton has laid down the standard for future conduct for any public entertainer:
'Sharpton said the airways should not be used to "call children hard-core hos, nappy-headed hos... None of us have the right to use the public airways to express our bigotry."'
I am confident that we will see this measurement applied equally to all who might be tempted to bust out such terms on the TV or radio, whether in song, video, or otherwise.

I hear that CBS has fired Imus from his radio show. those gutless, pandering cowards fired him during day 1 of 2 of a radiothon he hosts to raise funds for a ranch owns that allows kids with cancer to have a "cowboy" like experience. CBS and MSNBC are gutless [censored] cowards who have given in to opportunistic degenerates who pawn themselves off as "clergy".

Mark Levin had Steven Pagonas on live today, the DA whom Sharpton falsely accused of raping Tawana Brawley. Between his interview, which he conducted in a very calm and professional manner, and the whole list of deplorable things Sharpton has been involved in over the years, I have gone from having little respect for him to absolutely no respect for him.
Don Imus is a dolt, and while I do not support his firing, what goes around comes back around, and no one escapes it. I hope for the same for the insincere phoney that is Al Sharpton.

I could not have said it better. I'm so sick and tired to Sharpton and Jackson getting away with their racism. Imus said a stupid thing, but because it was said by a white guy it's consider racist. I worked with a ton of black woman who would be the first to complain with their nappy hair, they always, here in the Detroit area, called it as it was. As for the "ho", well look where the term originated, in hip hop music and it's not considered offensive, although I'm not a fan of the term. And my son goes to school with many blacks, pls BOL don't delete, this is a learning lesson, not a slur, even on Oprah the cast of Clash said this, n###ar, is not offense, N###er is. Only they know why one is and one is not. I find both inappropriate but they don't.
