Anyone closed on Columbus Day?

While I am not Italian, I am married to one, so I will have to make something appropriate. Manicotti or lasagna probably, or rigatoni in pancetta sauce.

I wish I would have saved that old Sopranos tape about Columbus Day, where the Native Americans want to protest the annual Columbus Day parade. It was funny!

Yes, we're closed. My husband and I are going to Asheville, NC for 2 days. I won't get back to work until Wednesday. I can hardly wait.

We are also closed on that day, however, we must attend an all-employees business meeting every year on that day.

Because I'm really a blonde and years of dying my hair brown as affected me as well...so sometimes my mind, or what's left of it...sees things...
I saw the some and then it was all downhill from there...

We are closed but I forgot and scheduled a board meeting for a non profit I am chair of. Oh well, it isn't until 4pm so I can take it easy in the morning.

Now, back to the Columbus Day thing - - as usual we are OPEN!! But I get a 'comp day' that I will use when the granddaughter is born so it's ok. And the IT/GLBA auditors have the day off so they won't be at my bank bright and early on Monday - kind of like a 'free day'

We are open on Columbus Day but get a personal day later.

We are closed on Veterans Day as ALL financial institutions should be closed. If its one day out of the whole darn year it should be Veterans Day that banks stay closed.

Ditto that. It honors Vets in several ways, those that work for you, those who are your customers, and those who are not. It is best when people participate in an activity honoring them, even if it is just going to a parade.

That said, my old bank kept the grocery store branches open for many of these holidays, but the backroom functions closed.

We are open on Columbus Day, open on Veterans Day, and open practically every day (only 6 total holidays this year, no float days, no comp days).

I agree fully with those opining that all banks should be closed for Veterans Day to honor our nation's vets! It hurts me that I cannot attend a parade or memorial function on Veterans Day, and I may plan to use a vacation day next year for this day, if allowed to do so (my bank doesn't like to break up weeks of vacation into a single day off).
