In an effort to make it easier to research threads, we're going to be experimenting with going through and amending the titles for many of the threads to help reflect the subject matter.

Thanks MB. I have found it difficult to read all of the posts at BOL. When subject lines are accurate, it makes it so much easier for me to decide what is an absolute must to read, what is an absolute must not read, and those that I will read if I have time.

I'm kind of winging it, but here are the conventions I have decided on so far:

If it pertains to a Federal Reserve reg, it will start out REG AA: _____ or whatever the reg is. If it's about ECOA, I'll put it under ECOA. If it's under Reg Z, I'm indexing it as TILA: If it's Reg DD, I'm labeling it TISA.

OFAC is OFAC:
All posts relating to articles 3 and 4 of the UCC (from stop payments to stale dated checks) will start out UCC:

Ones that are not banking-related, but just represent conversations between BOL users should be prefaced with CHAT:

I know we have tried discussing proper titling of posts many times before but everyone has there own ideas. Having one central person helping out will really help to get this organized! Great Job!

I would encourage everyone to follow the new convention on new threads.

Hopefully, within a day or two, the general rules will be clear.

I thick it's a great idea Mary Beth and beyond helping us figure out what we want to read, hopefully it will curtail all the discussion on what to post and what not to.

Not that I mind a good debate, it's the dead horses that bother me.

About 200 posts have had titles amended thus far, so the pattern to follow should be becoming clear. Use the acronym for the law (if it's one easily recognized) in capital letters, or the reg name (capitalized and written as REG B) -- followed by a colon, then a more specific description.

If it pertains to new accounts, start it

NEW ACCOUNTS:

If it pertains to personnel, label it HR: etc.

Thanks for doing this MB! It should make it easier to search for specific topics going forward, when we have questions, and don't remember if it has already been put out there on previous threads.
