When sending a marketing email, is it ok to use the customers name and refer to their account? Example: Jane, use your XX Store card and get 25% off this weekend only. Or is this a violation of GLBA/privacy? What if the customers email address is jane.doe@yahoo and the subject line reads "Use your XX Store card and get 25% off this weekend only". It can be inferred by the customers email name that they have a relationship with XX Store/bank. What is acceptable - thoughts?
