What, noone is talking about Big Ben being accused of sexual assault and being arrested?

Someone posted the story in a pm for the Steelers, but haven't heard the whole story.

Probably because all reports indicate that the poor women in this case is very emotionally/mentally ill and it's all a fabrication. Kinda like the Bettis mess a few years ago.

I didn't read where he was arrested. He is being accused by some Mentally Depressed woman who waited a year until all possible physical evidence was gone to file a civil suit.

Seriously, I hope this isn't true. But in a civil suit such as this, isn't the burden on Ben to prove his innocence as compared to a criminal suit, where she would have to prove his guilt.

Makes it easier for her to get the money she wants.

No, the burden is still on the plaintiff in the suit, it is just a much lower burden in a civil case as compared to a criminal case.

and no criminal charges. If someone was sexually assaulted, it would be far more about punishing a criminal and personal dignity than about the money.

She has also named 8 employees of the hotel in the suit for conspiring to cover up the assault. The lack of criminal charges, physical evidence, and the length of time it took for her to make the allegation likely makes this at worst a one night stand gone wrong. Hopefully it will be cleared up quickly, training camp starts next week.

I find it hard to believe that Big Ben did anything like that...I think someone's looking to get paid. I'd hate being a celebrity - how could you trust anyone around you? If I were dating, I think I'd have the woman sign some kind of disclaimer before the date...I'd keep them in my back pocket whenever I met someone new.

I hope Vick never plays again. But I'm sure most dog owners feel that way. I know he served his time, but I don't like people who abuse animals.
