The semicolon would indicate otherwise.

In 1494 it would be a correct usage.

The modern uses of the semicolon relate either to the listing of items or to the linking of related clauses.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semicolon

The Italian printer Aldus Manutius the Elder established the practice of using the semicolon to separate words of opposed meaning and to indicate interdependent statements.[1] "The first printed semicolon was the work of ... Aldus Manutius" in 1494.

But to fire someone because they are having health issues due to giving YOU their kidney? That doesn't make you a good boss, that makes you a butthead.

again, we are making assumptions, based on poor reporting, that the employee was fired for health issues. We don't know the reason for termination.

Could you imagine being the boss?

Everyday - showing up to work and the employee reminding you how you have HER kidney. A little blackmail come review time. Always having to make sure the employee was the team leader. It would get tiring, I would think.

"reminding you how you have HER kidney"

But she does not have HER kidney she has a kidney from another person.

Way, way south.
....Kramer: Oh yeah, you've got three pints of Kramer in you, buddy.

[Jerry starts screaming and Kramer joins him.]

--------------------------------------------------------------

[Monk's Cafe. Jerry and George.]

George: Three pints of Kramer's blood?

Jerry: I can feel his blood inside of me. Borrowing things from my blood.

Just a kidney? Like she doesn't have a back-up for that. Sheesh, you'd think she thinks she's special or something. smile

Further South than I wanna be.
Actually the commentary (not reported news) says that the employees kidney went to someone else in the pool putting the boss in a better position to get hers. It doesn't say she got it. Maybe she was still waiting for one and it affected the way she felt toward the employee. Not an excuse for firing her but it could have been the case.

The boss probably got upset because her recovery was quicker then the woman who donated and might have thought she was milking it. However, recovery is far easier for the recipient than the donor of kidney.
