I have recently been appointed the BSA officer and have recently attended a seminar for BSA. Since I am new to this, I am helping the person responsible for the filing of the Exemptions.

Are the Phase I and Phase II Biennial Renewals still required to be filed by March 15, 2009?

Please post and help me out on this topic!!!!

Biennial renewals were never required for Phase I exempt persons. Regulations that took effect January 5, 2009 eliminated biennial renewal filings for Phase II exempt persons.

As you have stated, then I can tell my person who is responsible for the CTT exemption renewals that she will not need to file the renewal for 2009 by March 15th for Phase II persons.

Yes. Just remember, though, that you still have to review your exemptions (except for banks and government entities) annually.
