How should we handle eliminating a CD product that automatically renews?

Do we have to keep the product open for those that already have it until they decide to close or can we notify them that we are no longer offering that CD product and therefore it won't renew and include a list of other CD products that we offer?

I would notify customers prior to maturity that the CD will auto convert to another CD if not redeemed prior to end of grace period. That may help to retain some of the deposits that could be lost. Provide full disclosure of new CD terms with pre-maturity notice.
