It is you. Article 3 -- Negotiable Instruments was last updated in 1992 by The American Law Institute and the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. If and what revisions your state adopted is another matter. It is the law governing negotiable instruments and is still applicable.

(Iowa adopted Article 3 revisions in 1994.) Added
