I've heard from regulators that a customer wishing to sign up for E-statements must not only agree that they can access the statement on the appropriate software, e.g. Adobe, but that they must have actually accessed the software and the bank verified such before the bank can subscribe the customer to the program. I thought the customer only had to acknowledge that they have the required software.
