Freak, you count the swipes??? Then yeah, you can join the OCD club right along with me. I must do 11 swipes of deodorant, 6 pumps of soap when washing my hands, exactly 2 paper towels when drying them, 6 bottles of water a day... Doesn't this result in your underarms being absolutely COATED and just about empty the soap dispenser in no time??

I do nine rounds of antiperspirant--bottom to top, top to bottom. Three pumps of soap and three paper towels.

I feel sorry for all of you!!
I can't tell you how many times I contaminated my son when we were doing peritoneal dialysis at home!
I got to be an expert on hand washing, but still could not hook up that cath without touching something!

I got to be an expert on hand washing, but still could not hook up that cath without touching something! I know what you mean. And this is what started it for me. My fear was of giving N and infection via her PICC line (IV line they sent you home with). I was doing IV infusions and saline and heparin flushes...those PICC lines go right into the heart. I screw something up, by not washing my hands, and my kid is done for. So I have developed this "coping" mechanism. Washing my hands beats the PTSD flashbacks any old day.
