The Farkle thread gave me an idea... What games do you play for game night? I love playing games when I have people over for dinner and the riht game with the right people makes for an awesomly fun ngiht. One of my favorites is Pit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pit_(game) Another is Scattergories. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ScattergoriesYet another is Apples to Apples (since thsi weekend!). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apples_to_Apples

MASH has proven to be loads of fun in our office. I hadn't played that game since elementary school and we just laughed and laughed!

Hand and foot is a card game that is a lot of fun! Kid wonder and I practice at home until we go visit my aunt and uncle. UNO is another card game my daughter and I enjoy.

I mentioned it already in the Farkle thread but Apples to Apples is my favorite. I also like Phase 10.
I played another game not too long ago that was a ton of fun. It was called "What's Yours Like?" Each round, there is one person that has to guess what the others are describing. Everyone is trying to describe the same thing. For example, one round went like this:
Describer 1: Mine's big Describer 2: Mine's wide Describer 3: Mine's straight Describer 4: Mine took years to perfect
The describer's were getting at the word "Smile".
It's a whole lotta fun.

Pictionary (we have big dry erase boards)
The game of things (can only find at Target - will get a question like "things you would not want to find in your attic", and everyone guess at what everyone put)

Bah! All these "party" games. I'd suggest something a little more robust like Shadows Over Camelot (3-8 players vs. the board itself), BANG! (spaghetti western shootout for 3-8 players), or Betrayal at the House on the Hill (2-6 player creep fest where one of you will attempt to kill the others). Though I suppose for something interesting for "party" game people, try Once Upon a Time.

UNO is another card game my daughter and I enjoy. Way back in the day when I went over my high school boyfriend's house, his mom, dad, he and I used to play UNO - we used the "regulation" deck of cards, but added the draw 2's, draw 4's and reverses from 3 other decks!
