Did anyone watch/hear Obama's speech last night? That is what I asked. Did anyone?

Hey- give the lady a break. Three nanoeseconds are important when you're too old to buy green bananas. Jac - do you have a death wish today?

Back to the subject of overdrafts-Why do customers find it wrong and get angry because banks charge an overdraft fee? They wrote a check without money in the account to cover it!!!!! Why wouldn't you charge them? But the cusotmer's seem to think that is OK. Maybe my age is showing but I was taught not to write checks when I didn't have any money.

What if mommy and daddy dearest are six feet under? Then you should spend your money wisely and not overdraw.

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line

People act like overdrafts cannot be avoided. Everyone makes a mistake occassionally, but usually a bank will waive the first OD fee. That would be the time to talk to your bank about the various OD protection products they have available. You don't HAVE to take the "courtesy OD" protection that is given. You can opt out. I have a sweep from my savings to cover any inadvertant overdrafts that I only get charged $5.00 per sweep for. That is a lot more reasonable to me than $30.00. But then you have to have a savings account to use that.

What if mommy and daddy dearest are six feet under? So not the point of the comment.
