Good luck getting tickets. OU was allotted 16,000 tickets and have had 65,000 requests. 16,000 doesn't even cover the donor season ticket holders. Hopefully the Sugar Bowl will be better prepared than they were in Kansas City. People were arriving at 8:00 a.m. for a 7:00 p.m. game only to find out that they were not going to open the gates to the parking lot until 4 hours prior to kickoff. Vehicles and RVs were lined up to the gate, the access road, the off-ramp and onto the Interstate. All with nowhere to go but to tailgate along the side of the road. Then with 26 minutes of warm-ups left for the team on the field, the K-State band decided to take the field among the Sooner players. I guess K-State got their warmups but the Sooners didn't. They had to leave among the Boos from the K-State fans when they didn't yield to the band immediately. Not very well organized I would say.

Boy that sounds pretty messed up Boomermom.
Since I'm from Louisiana and went to LSU, I've got a few different ticket sources so I should be OK. And tell the OU fans, this is New Orleans so no real place to tailgate, but then again there's always the quarter!!!
Should be a great game!

You mean they don't have a parking lot to handle the vehicles? Where do people park? Are colleges the only ones that tailgate? I thought they did that in the pro parking lots too!

Well they do have some limited parking available at the Superdome, but it's not lots rather a parking garage/multi-level structure. You've got to remember the Dome is in downtown New Orleans so parking space is limited. So yes tailgating in NOLA for Saints or any other games is pretty limited. I would also not try and bring a RV to NOLA, again as parking is limited.
But hey your in NOLA, enjoy some of the local food and there's plenty of fun to be had there.

Well, I will have to watch it on tv. I work for a bank, remember, my husband is a poor school teacher in Oklahoma and my son in college at OU so we have no money! But you can bet there will be plenty of fans there. When Washington State turned back in a lot of their tickets for the Rose Bowl last year, they were gone to OU fans quickly.

Bartman....thanks for the Div. II play! Go Fighting Sioux (ND). I really don't like North Dakota, but South Dakota hasn't been playing well for years, so I'll cheer for the NCC.

OK, it's settled - all y'all can quit debating who's going to win the national championship! It's Grand Valley 10-3 over North Dakota. 2 years in a row, baby!

Where is GVSU? I watched the game and ND came sooooo close twice and just couldn't do it. GVSU's QB looked pretty good.

Allendale, Michigan - just west of Grand Rapids.

The good news is, QB Cullen Finnerty is a freshman. Their only loss this season was partially due to him suffering a concussion and convincing the trainers (aka "faking them out") that he could play the 3rd quarter. He still doesn't remember the interception he tossed. (I think they're on to him now.)

The other good news is, they won with defense. And while it's way too soon to use the word 'dynasty', things are looking pretty bright for next season.

Too bad for us little NCC fans! I also noticed that, in the NAIA playoffs, my first college, Northwestern College in Orange City, IA won the first round and lost to Sioux Falls. I didn't even know that they were in the playoffs. Shows how closely I pay attention

Well, Jeremy, Sioux City then fell to Northwestern in Alva. In fact, Northwestern is playing for the NAIA Championship this Saturday. Some of the Cox channels are carrying it, I'm just not sure what markets. We will get to see it here on our local station. This is the 3rd time in 5 years that they have played for the Championship. They won it the first time.

Does anyone know who won the Harlon Hill award in Div II this year?

All over the map.
North Alabama QB Hall named top Div. II player . University of North Alabama quarterback Will Hall was chosen as the nation's top Division II football player Friday night. Hall received the Harlon Hill trophy during a ceremony on the eve of the Division II national championship game in Florence between Grand Valley State and North Dakota. The award is the Division II equivalent of the Heisman Trophy.

Hall was chosen over two other finalists -- St. Cloud State quarterback Keith Heckendorf and Nebraska-Omaha running back Justin Kammrad.

Sorry to say I didn't know this first-hand, I just love to surf to see if I can find things.

BTW, on ESPN2 tonight, North Texas State will be playing in the Louisianna Bowl.

FYI--St. Cloud State and Nebraska-Omaha are both in the NCC, along with North Dakota and my school, South Dakota! Go NCC!

It is the Division II version of the Heisman. Harlon Hill's story is interesting and sad--small school in Alabama--Rookie of the Year for Chicago Bears--Alcoholism ruins career!
