Got to meet Chris Webber at his restaurant once - we was surprisingly down to earth. Chris Farley was filming a movie near my home town once and was just wandering around Target on an off day. He was pretty cool to everyone there. Had a really bad seat for an Andre Agassi tennis match once and in the middle of it Steffi Graf snuck in and sat next to me. Guess she figured no one would be looking for her in the cheap seats. Played in a pick-up basketball game with Jason Kidd before he was terribly famous. That was just humiliating.

I've not actually met anyone famous but Muhammed Ali walked past me when I was waiting for my ride at O'Hare. He said Hi.
I was at Prince's club in Minneapolis with friends one night in the early 90s and the purple one himself walked past me. He came up to my shoulder and he had heels on!
In the late 80s I was working for a commercial insurance company in Minneapolis and Verne Gagne's American Wrestling Association office was right next door. I would often see some of the wrestlers in the hallway such as "The Claw".

Said Hi to George Strait one year as he walked past at a rodeo one year and then was at the same bar with him afterwards.
Met Jim Stafford at one of his concerts.
And know Shannon from Danity Kane - good friends with her dad and stepmom.
Also have met Ty Murray and used to have his phone number.
Partied one night with Fred Whitfield (world champion calf roper).

I did actually get to meet Mark Schultz and the members of Point of Grace (Christian artists I referred to in an earlier post) at their concert last night. Since I helped to unload their trucks and set-up the sound and lighting equipment, I got to go to the Meet-N-Greet before the concert. Mark Schultz signed a CD for my son and then the ladies of P.O.G. signed his concert ticket. Very humble people and very friendly!
We also got to go to an after concert. It was just a little get together of about 30 people and all the artists did a few acoustic versions of their songs. It was very cool! My son was in 7th heaven!

We have a couple of celeb clients, but can't say who because of privacy I hung out with Mariel Hemingway in Jr. High a few times. Her Godfather was a friend. I sat in front of Dolly Parton at an Alumni game at my college. They anounced she was in attendance, and I was joking about one of the football players dressing up as her until I turned around. She was very nice about it. Last, I'm told my sister bit Vincent Price when she was a girl.

I don't know why this is funny but it is. Almost grotesquely kind: Sandra Bullock Was at a seminar where he spoke, he was smart. Not smart enough to avoid a prison sentence, but still smart.

A friends mother used to date John Dutchindorf in high school...before he became John Denver My dad graduated from high school with Mr. Deutschendorf! I've seen his picture in the yearbook. Dad says no one really knew him - just a quiet kid who faded into the background (Dad, however, was NOT! ). Someone said they had an aunt or someone who dated Glen Campbell. I think he did a lot of that - he dated my aunt a little too.

My friend's dad knew Elvis when he went to college in Memphis.
They used to play pick up football; he said Elvis always used to bring the beer for everyone.

No, my dad was raised in Roswell, NM. I just googled, and wiki says he graduated from a school in Ft. Worth, but I'm tellin' ya - his picture is in my dad's senior yearbook!
I wonder if he spent part of the year there. There was a very large air force base in Roswell at the time.

from imdb.com As the son of an Air Force officer, Denver was constantly moved from state to state and country to country. It was in Tucson, Arizona, that his grandmother gave him his first acoustic guitar, a gift that would prove an icebreaker when meeting other students at the many new schools in which he was placed. After settling with his family in Fort Worth, Texas, Denver ran away to California for a short time. He returned to Texas and graduated from high school, but soon returned to California on a more permanent basis.

My mom went on a date with Brad Pitt in high school. They both went to Kickapoo in Springfield, she said he was a d!ck.
But oh, if she would have just stuck it out...

Famous to who? To me? OK, well, here's mine....
Arthur Fiedler....played for him while in college!!
Itzhak Perlman....just a passing handshake backstage
Michael Martin Murphy....back stage....drew a chuckle from him when I asked him to sign the cover of my "Wildfire" record album
Mark O'Connor....was charged with driving his sound man across town to where another band was playing....while waiting for the sound guy, I had the privilege of visiting one on one with Mark while he ate his supper at the hotel restaurant.
Roger Staubach at the pre-marathon banquet the evening before I ran the Dallas Whiterock Marathon....have a picture of that!!!
I played on stage with the Moody Blues, but didn't get to actually meet them. I went to their dressing room door, but all I could get was a personally signed glossy from their manager.

I talked to a fallen mod once. Does that count as famous? Perhaps infamous is more accurate.

I saw Annette Funicello one time in the lobby of a hotel in La Quinta, CA. She was already ill with whatever disease she has but still as pretty as ever. I also saw Alan Thicke once at a Del Taco in Banning, Ca with his son, Robin. This was before Growing Pains. His son was passing out autographed pictures of the actor to anyone who wanted one. We didn't know who he was. Funny, his son is the famous one now, huh?

Multiple Sclerosis.....my brother and sister are both stricken with that horrible disease. My brother is paraplegic, who daily falls off his scooter and has to call paramedics to come out and get him up off the floor....but lives by himself on about $500 per month ssi and is forced to use medicaid. My sister can still walk with a walker, but is stuck at a job that she's almost incapable of performing, where she had insurance prior to diagnosis and so now cannot switch to anything else since she is virtually uninsurable. Sorry.....I had to stick that sob story in, because my heart breaks, daily, for the two of them.
