Something I read in a post yesterday has made me question myself.....

Individual cashes two checks totaling over $10k. Teller runs as a multi check transaction with one cash out. Would you consider this multiple transactions in item 1c or not?

I would always check 1c for multi-Trans, but now I'm over thinking it....

If I come in and hand a teller one or ten checks to cash at one time, it is one transaction regardless of how you might process it through your teller system.

Okay.
What if I walk in the bank and hand the teller $15k and three deposit slips (One for my checking and one for each of my savings accounts) Is this one transaction or multiple?
...I'm still over thinking it...

Consider the CTR as a tracer document. If someone hands you the $15000 CTR three years later and asks you to look up the supporting documentation would it be helpful to know that you are not looking for a $15,000 deposit, but three deposits that add up to $15,000? Check the box.
