I have a question about interest caps for HELOCs and I realize this is a state matter under usury law. However, I believe this may be a candidate for federal preemption under our regulator, and I was wondering if Federal Law addresses this matter at all. I have not been able to find anything on it. Thanks

It does not preempt the State usury laws in the State in which you are located.

Thanks. I spoke with my state bankers association, and there are no rate ceiling per usury law in Wisconsin currently. However, we still need to abide by any Federal Regulation that applies.

Does anyone know where I could find this information relating to HELOCs or if it even exists?
