If Freak was a bottle of wine, what varietal would he be and what would he be called?? Moscato D'Assti - A cheaky little wine with a lot of nose and intersting yet amusing alpine note at the end!

i love shiraz and i think it would be yummy with rib roast.... it's a "safe" red wine... I don't like dry reds *yuck* (kust my opionions) and if you want to do research idk what city you live in but if you locate some wine bars you can usually try a wine flight ( a sampling of 3-5 different wines) and then you can buy the bottle from there or go to your local beer/wine/liquor store.

did that have a Chevy 357 under the hood? No, that would be the carp my cousin use to make in his closet with RONCO's Closet Wine Maker!

If Freak was a bottle of wine, what varietal would he be and what would he be called?? A mixture of beaujolais and Ripple: booze-yo-lipple (phonetic spelling, 'cause I have no idea how to spell that type of wine).

While Montrachet is a spectacular wine, it is a white wine. Deek, you can't go wrong with one of the 5 Premiere Grand Crus Château Lafite-Rothschild Chäteau Latour Château Margaux Château Mouton-Rothschild Château Haut-Brion But really anything from the Pauillac, Médoc, or Margaux appellations of Bordeaux would go perfectly with a standing rib roast. Or there's my personal favorite. 1990 Opus One I'm just sayin....

Actually, Total Wine carries a zinfandel that would be just perfect for you, DQ. It is affordable and enjoyable. But the best part is the name of the wine: Seven Deadly Zins. *like!* Ag: *kick*

A couple reasonably priced ($10 to $12, maybe less with a good sale) reds that we have been enjoying are Three Girls Cabernet and Sterling Vintner's Collection Meritage.
Meritage is a recently coined American word for Bordeaux style blends.
The Seven Deadly Zins recommended above is good, too.
You can also save a couple bucks by looking for South American wines. Lots of good bargains. Cabs, merlot, and also Malbec.
