I'm am overwhelmed with all the instructions from the BSA E-filing website.

I am attempting to complete my first SAR via e-filing and I am using the newest form. (figured it was a waste of time to learn how to complete the other one)

In the General Specifications for Electtonic Filing of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Reports on page 7 is states "Entries should not contain lower case characters in the file."

Does this mean that we only use capital letters for anything typed on the SAR, both line items and the narrative?

I believe the software converts everything to capitals (at least on discrete filings). I think the "capitals only" instructions are for setting up batch filings.

I discrete file and use upper/lower case in my filings, and have never had an issue with submission/acknowledgement errors.
