Enjoyed "Kite Runner". Amazing snapshot of life in Afghanistan over the past few decades.

I've got two going right now: Patricia Briggs' new release Fair Game, and a reread of Lover Unbound by JR Ward.

Just started reading "The Friday Night Knitting Club" by Kate Jacobs two days ago. More than halfway through, and I'm really enjoying it.

I'm also reading "Les Miserables" for the first time as a free Kindle download classic book. Really excellent! I've seen the musical, but never read it.

Oh Les Miserables is *wonderful*. Although the first time I had to read it in French and that took a whole lot longer.

Let's see. Right now I am reading Sara Paretsky's new one and Parnell Hall's "KenKen Murders" and listening to "Moby Duck." Not all at the same time.

I bought that for my ex MIL for mothers day, she was supossed to let me borrow it, but then she wasn't my MIL anymore. And apparently divorcing her son made me like the devil incarnate, so i don't think i get to borrow it anymore. frown

Les Mis is an excellent read - although not as warm and fuzzy as the musical.

Well, it was required reading for French Lit. So not that impressive. I did enjoy it enough to go back and read it in English.

I had never read the "Left Behind" series so I've started that series. Should begin the 3rd book - Nicolae - tonight.

I don't know if I 'm going to be able to put down the Outlander series long enough to read the new BDB book... I'm 80% through Voyager, the third book in the series.

I just finished the Hunger Games trilogy - it only took me 4 days to read them all. The first book is great, the 2nd is solid, but it loses steam in the last book. I got the impression the third book was written mostly to sell a trilogy to Hollywood.

It's definitely worth reading though - a fun series. I'm looking forward ot the first movie next week.

Good series, but it probably could have been done in 8 books instead of 12.

I think I read the first 8. I found the "coincidences" ridiculous after a while. "We need to get to Utah. We need a jet." Look there's one - fueled and ready. "Wait, we need a pilot" Look - there's a new guy hiding behind that building. "I'm a pilot". Of cours you are.

My sister and MIL both tried to get me to read Left Behind years ago, but I couldn't get into it. I think the very beginning reminded me too much of The Stand, and since that book is my standard by which all post-apocalyptic stories are measured, I just couldn't get interested.
