How is your time doing on the Du Jen? Are the transitions getting easier? The bike to run transition will never be "easy". Last night was the end of the summer series. I was ecstatic with my run times (all 4 miles in the 8:ish range) but my bike was the slowest ever. I blame that on 7 1/2 miles on Sunday night and 2 1/2 miles in the 8:ish range on hills with the cross country kids on Monday night. But I accomplished my goal of completing the distance and building confidence on the bike. Big Red and I are getting along very well. He's a good boy and takes corners on the down hill like a sports car...when I trust him. I chickened out a little bit last night when I heard there was lose gravel on the corner where the race director wiped out at the first race.

Proud of you Jen! Not that your legs need help, but they're gonna be killer with the bike rides. I dont see any down side to this! You're giving your feet a little break without losing anything and you found a great avenue to be able to compete in a new medium. And BTW, gravel is evil!

Thanks!!!
My PT is also proud of me, I think my body is too. But so far my runner legs arent translating to climbing hills on the bike...yet...but they will. I keep reminding myself I only rode a few times last year on a bike that was WAY too small (it was a women's "medium" and Big Red is a men's 56) and have only had Big Red since March. I've been running seriously for over 4 years.
Last edited by RR Jen; 06/06/12 04:01 PM. Reason: it's a 56...not 65...I'm tall but that would be ridiculous :)

Sweet! The AR5 is 2 lbs ligter than the Z85...wow...that's hard to imagine. Big Red seems REALLY light compared to the bikes I've been riding.
