All of the shelves and kegs have been fully stocked, the kitchen is open and the jukebox has been filled with quarters.
So as Jeff Spicoli would say, "Hey Bud, let's party!"

Where I am supposed to be
|
Going to the State Fair after work. In honor of that, is there a drink that would be appropriate to prepare me for the amount of redneckness (yes I know this is not a word but it fits) to which I am about to be exposed?

::hands Purple Pride two 6 packs of PBR, one red solo cup, and a tattered Crimson Tide t-shirt with the sleeves cut off that used to say "Got 12?" but the 2's been marked through with a sharpie and replaced with a 3, which has been marked through and replaced with a 4::
You're good to go!

During WWII, Americans saved their bacon grease so they could turn it in for extra meat ration coupons. Munitions factories used the bacon fat to make explosives. Today, I save my bacon grease to make grilled cheese sandwiches.
I think bacon ale would be divine this morning.

Thank you to Dani, GD, and Bobby. I think that I will use all of your suggestions together and then I should be in the correct frame of mind for the Fair, including having a couple of red solo cups.
BTW BaconBoy: A new food at our State Fair this year is bacon ice cream which has been described as "candied bacon pieces in maple ice cream." I will have some just for you.

Today, I save my bacon grease to make grilled cheese sandwiches. really? do you coat the pan with the grease and drop the sandwich in there or do you smear grease on the bread? Well, I'm watching my weight now that I'm back in the dating scene. So I first put a spoonful of grease in the bottom of the pan and fry whatever lunchmeat I'm putting in the sandwich. While that's cooking, I smear more grease on one side of the bread and dust with garlic salt and sometimes paprika. When the meat is crispy, I pull it out of the pan onto the non-greased side of bread (which, by this point, has a slice of cheese on it), top with more cheese and the other piece of bread. When I'm feeling especially indulgent, I also spead some cream cheese on the bread before adding the cheese. And when I'm feeling really bad, I add a slice of tomato. Just a thin slice, because I don't want to go too over the top. If I drank soda, I'd be totally up in that! Thx, PP!

that seems like a lot of work for a sandwich
I think I'll try frying the grilled cheese sandwich in a pool of bacon grease

I just found a couple old WWII ration books with coupons still attached. I wonder if I can still redeem them??
