I have sure mised you all. My mother had a mini-stroke last Thursday and I spent almost a week with her at the hospital. Her main artery is 45% blocked, and until Tuesday, we thought she was looking at surgery. The doctors felt that her odds of surviving surgery were not good, so they decided not to risk it. We came home late Wed. night and she is doing okay. Because of her age (83) and other health issues,there wasn't much they could do. She is one tough lady, and I'm thankful for that. I just don't think they make 'em like that generation anymore. Anyway, I'm back to work today. Any prayers on her behalf would be appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I can relate somewhat...my mom, over the past year has been through open heart surgery, and surgery for an aortic aneurysm, as well as 2 cataract surgeries. She is now awaiting surgery for a large hernia and possibly a reversal of a colostomy that she has had for 13 years since colon cancer was discovered. Even in all of this, things could be much worse, and God is good...all the time. My mom just turned 70. In any case, I pray that all goes well with your mom. Take care.

Okay, I have a couple of minutes to update, then I'm out for a bit. Mom fell Saturday evening at the grocery store and broke her kneecap. After many hours in the ER, they sent us home with a brace. Needless to say, I know why I didn't go into nursing. I'm kinda frazzled. Her spirits have been good, but she's really feeling bad today. We are headed to the Orthapedist to see what can be done. I'm not sure when I'll be able to check in, but I (and Mom) would really like to call on all you Prayer Warriors for intercession. Thanks, and I'll check in when I can.

New day dawning. We're still out here praying. Hope the sun's shining on a more favorable day for you!

Mom had surgery Wed. The surgeon was able to give her a "block" in the femoral artery and sedate her through the IV so the anesthesia issue was fine. He had to put 2 screws into her kneecap. She was moved to the Rehab center of the hospital on Saturday and was doing fine. Yesterday, her leg began to swell, and she has this bruise that has spread from her ankle all the way up to the middle of her calf. If it continues, they are moving her back to the ICU unit tonight. She has already been given 3 units of blood. Her spirits have been very good, until yesterday. She said she doesn't think she will ever get home now. Thank you all for the prayers, please keep them coming.
