More things you really don't need to know... On Thursday, the results of the Gallup Healthways Well-being Index were released, giving insight into what states are the happiest – and which states are the saddest. Perhaps it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a state perhaps best known for sun and surf snagged the top spot on the list (think: volcanoes and leis), but there are some upsets in the mix (are New Yorkers REALLY happier than people from Indiana?). http://www.weather.com/health/happiest-saddest-state-20130301

if you don't like where you live, then move...if you like where you live, then don't move...this poll does nothing for me...
I live in Louisiana, one of the greatest states, in my humble opinion. We have history in the French Quarter, Antebellum homes, civil war sites, indian mounds, some of the best restaurants in the world, great local music, Tabasco is made here. For the outdoor enthusiasts, we have mild winter weather that is ideal for winter hunting and fishing, we have a 40 mile converted railroad line that is used for running, cycling, and horseback riding, sports are played year round, we have professional football and basketball, numberous minor league baseball teams, and even roller derby is making a comeback!
We also have some negatives, a political system that still has too much corruption, many schools fall into the sub-par performance category, and lest we forget - a risk of devastation annually due to hurricanes.
Are there other places in the country I'd like to live? Sure, if money was no object, i'd be living on Central Park West in the Dakota! With a summer home in Key West, a winer home in Aspen, and a vacation home in California.
But in the end - there is no place like home!

It would appear that the wind sweeping down the plains is not nearly as magical as Rogers and Hammerstein had led us to believe. Fortunately for us, we are to dumb to know we are sad. Oklahoma #44

the Vikings continual success must make Minnesoteans happy You would think that Wisconsinites would be much happier given all the drinking that happens over there.

the Vikings continual success must make Minnesoteans happy Nice! People in Minnesota know NEVER to get our hopes up with our sports teams. We don't tie our happiness to our teams or the whole state would have committed suicide by now.

OMG! The worst part of driving to Chicago in the summers was the Illinois drivers. Speed up, slow down. Ride your bumper, pass then slow down. Gah!!!

This poll has to be rigged! Kentucky is #49. How can you be unhappy in a state known for horse racing, bourbon and fried chicken!!! All three make me extremely happy!

I appreciate the fact that my downstate-born wife understands Chicago driving. We were driving in traffic and she pointed out a driver making a classic mistake. He put on his blinker signaling his intention to change lanes. HA! That just a signal to drivers in that lane to close the gap so you can't move over.

We use a very simple system. Biggest truck gets the lane. Cars just get the left overs. There is, however, the motorcycle kohoney clause. If you have a motorcycle and the kojonies..go for it!
