My mom has suffered with pain the majority of my life, but nothing like she has experienced this past week. She is 75 years young and stubborn as they come, but she allowed my father to take her to ER early Sunday morning. In the ER the doctor could not determine what the cause of her pain was (her entire abdomen hurt). Her bloodwork didn't show anything unusual. When he checked her though, and started pressing on her stomach she started complaining, and when he touched her lower left abdomen, she screamed. He immediately, prescribed morphine and a CT. The CT showed numerous cyst through out her abdomen and a mass on her left ovary.

I took her to see her regular doctor yesterday, and he ordered 2 more vials of blood and an ultra sound of her left ovary. Her ultra sound is schedule for tomorrow.

From the research I have done, checking all her symptoms, I am concerned that the mass may not be benign. I know I am no doctor, and I really hope my researching skills faltered last night. But I am really scared. My mom is my best friend, and yes I want to be self-fish, though I know I can't be.

I am asking for prayers to help my family through this. If it's not what we think, then for the ultra sound to find what it is. If it is the worst case scenario, than to help us through this time of the unknown.

I don't like ultrasounds. Couldn't tell what I was looking at all. So now we just wait. (I don't like waiting either).

I'm doing a walk tomorrow to raise funds for ovarian cancer awareness and treatment. I'll keep your Mom in my thoughts as I walk.

Thank you all for your prayers. The doctor wanted to see her today so I took her, and good news, the testing for ovarian cancer came back negative. Her ultra sound didn't show anything unusaul and the cr-125 blood test was negative.

So it has left us baffled. As of right now, she id too continue on with the medicine he gave her on Monday for the pain and slow ween her off it and see if her symptoms reappear. So I guess we are still waiting, at least it's not ovarian cancer.

Yea for good news! HOpe they quickly find out what really is going on tho!
