For those that have to deal with cold winters, what do you set your thermostat at and when?
For winter I'm thinking of setting mine at 68. I had it at 70 one year but wondered if that was too high. I don't vary much whether during the day or night, I tend to keep it pretty steady.
For summer I was at 73 at one point but moved to 75.

We have a programmable-during the week it is around 64 during the day, 66 during the evening, then back down to 64 overnight.
Weekends are 64 overnight and 66 during the day.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Thanks everyone, I know there really isn't a right or wrong answer, I was just wondering. Except for this person: My gosh you keep it cold!! If I wanted your opinion on what others keep their thermostat set at I would have asked. I will form my own opinions, thank you very much!

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
|
Heat comes on if below 68/ Air Conditioner comes on if above 73. Between 68 & 73 - nothing...... I could probably drop the 68 to 65 and be perfectly fine.

A CU, Where Regs Don't Apply

We don't have central air, and live on the second floor of an apartment building. Mid-winter it can be zero outside, and in the upper 70s in our place, without having the heat on. It's ridiculous, we often have some of the windows cracked throughout the winter. Our heat is set to kick on if it drops below 60, it almost never does .

I'm almost ashamed to say....
I keep mine at 76-78 during the winter, and 72-73 during the summer. I like to be warm and not be overly burdened by layers and layers of clothing.

Well now we actually HAVE heat... we keep it around 72 when we're up/home, 67 when we're at work, and 65 overnight. During the summer it's 70-72 all the time.
