A_G, the trick is to not tighten it too quickly, or you end up dealing with being "cinchy".
The horse, naturally, not you.

only 1 day to go
For more than a billion people worldwide, the true start to the year arrives Jan. 31, Chinese New Year. Welcome to the year 4712! With the coming Year of the Horse (the Wooden Horse, to be precise), the Lunar Festival promises an extreme year of adventure and romance, and also chaos and market fluctuations.

I only use the shiny spoons that are in the lunchroom silverware drawer. I have an inherent distrust of dull, matte-finished spoons…I think they are dirty…….

Good point. Forks are iffy...sometimes they have crud stuck between the tines. That's where sporks come in handy.
I have never been able to master chopstixs. I would probably die if that's all I had to use.....

My 23 year old and her husband live with us. They are not the definition of cleanliness. I rarely get a "shiny" fork or spoon from the drawer, which usually means I am hand washing it before I use. Of course, when you put silverware in the dishwasher that has been in your room for 4 days with dried-on food, it will not come clean.
I hope you all are as disgusted as I am... and NO, I did not raise her that way :-(

basil - my husband once found a molded bowl of chili in his daughter's room. Who knows how long it had been there. However she was 17 at the time. Don't think she would do that now, though. Have you thought about a chore chart?

When my daughter and son in law were about that age they came for a visit that was suppose to last for a week. They left after 3 days because they were pitting out the house and I asked them to clean up their mess. The response was "if we have to clean up afterr ourselves we might as well go home". My response was "We will miss you". At 23 most of us still have things to learn. ![smile smile](/forum/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif)

<<<-- has a sharp knife in her desk drawer. For eating like the cowboys in westerns where they use their Bowie knives for cutting and as forks? I wouldn't give you any compliance grief if I saw that kind of action in the lunchroom....it would be "Yes ma'am, whatever you say!"

I also don't drink the water from the Culligan dispenser when a brand new bottle is just put on. It leaves white floaties in your glass. OMG--I just changed the water bottle (Mountain Mist, not Culligan). There is dirt, lint and blue plastic chunks floating in the area that has the pokey dispenser thingy ![sick sick](/forum/images/graemlins/default/sick.gif) I also thought, "Someone could hork a phlegm ball in there an no one would be none the wiser."
