It's time to do our periodic poll on the display settings being used by BOLers

Don't know what your display is set to? Go to Settings/Control Panel, click on Display, then click on the tab within Display that says "Settings" and observe what the numbers are.
What is your computer's screen display setting?
single choice

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
Sorry, no can do. They've disabled our display so that it cannot be changed. I can say that it is whatever is required for BankersEdge internet training.

Ditto -- cannot access control panel due to restrictions by system administrator

I'm set at 1600 x 1200 -- apparently that's pretty high. No wonder people walk by and squint at my screen. I can see it just fine.

High color (16 bit), 800 x 600 (I would have thought I was with the crowd that could not get this info since we have a gestapo type IT department) . I kinda pride myself on having the oldest machine in the bank. I just upgraded to windows 98.

Well, since I did not get a chance to vote before the poles closed, I'll just have to tell you this way

now we have a little distance between the top two.

Can't believe that I could get this, (we have a gestapo IT also) just wait till I get a new PC.

You can also find out this information without going throught the Control Panel. Minimize all of your programs and right-click anywhere on the desktop screen. Select "Properties" from the menu and then "Settings".

Off topic: I know there are valid reasons for that. But it would bug me to no end to have such little control over my main tool for doing my job.

Just for fun, call them and say "hey guys, I connected this Linksys wireless router from Best Buy and now for $50 I can use my personal laptop all around the office. It even goes through my desktop PC to the mainframe". Oh the fun you can have with that.

Our IT goes nuts 'cause I have a "flash drive" and they can't stop it.

my it department just sent me an email telling me my password (which they put in the email) was too easy to figure out. Now what if my admin was reading my email while I'm on vacation???? She'd now have my password. Sheesh!

Andy, it appears that others are able to vote, but not me. All I see are the results and not the voting buttons. What's up with that? (In point and click speak please, I'm no teckie.) Or am I being the "stepchild" on this thread? Thanks,

I also see only the results. That is because I voted. I would assume you did to. If you didn't, a) I don't know why you can't and b) if you want to vote repeatedly, several political candidates want you on their side.

a) I didn't vote because on the day that this started, I saw only results (see my 1st post)
b) Sounds like business as usual----- I'm from the Chicago area --in the Mayor Daley days-- where the motto is "Vote early and vote often"

Soccermom - I can only take a guess at this, and maybe a BOL'er will confirm... the votes may be tracked by IP address. If so, someone at your company may have already voted, and that IP address would then be locked out for allowing any more votes. Just a wild guess...

Why are so many bankers restricted to 8X6 monitor resolutions? When I moved up to a 17" monitor and switched from 8X6 to 10X8, I found I could work faster because I wasn't spending so much time scrolling around the screen.

Show me the money... if I have it, then every one else would want it... I am looking forward to meeting you next week, Mr Insley! And I will introduce myself... How shall I?
