The combined global land and ocean average surface temperature for the January–October period (year-to-date) was 0.68°C (1.22°F) above the 20th century average of 14.1°C (57.4°F). The first ten months of 2014 were the warmest such period on record.

I argue all the time with one of my friends about climate change. He calls it global warming, and every time it is cold he has to say something about global warming. And I use the NOAA and NASA statistics in my "discussions" with him.

Climate change happens. Global warming happens. But who knows if it is a long-term issue or a relatively short-term one. However, with the amount of global air pollution, deforestation of the rain forests and increased cow methane, I find it hard to believe that we are not altering the climate at least somewhat.
