Favorite Conference Quote

We heard some good speakers at the ABA compliance conference, but I have to admit that my favorite quote of all was the following statement that was made at one of the breakout sessions by a fellow BOLer.
"When in doubt, whip it out."
I'll keep the speaker's name anonymous, but believe it or not, this was some very good advice about a legitimate compliance issue.

I'm not ashamed - it was ME!
First off, I have said that at other training sessions. That's my style.
Second, we were asked by the ABA to "liven it up". We taught the Lending Update with a few new twists. We had "Who Let the Dogs Out" music before and after the session. We had lots of Dog pictures - one on each Power Point slide. And we had lots of Dog puns - this one made me "growl". I wanted to "roll over and play dead", etc.
We had tons of compliments, although I haven't been asked to come back yet.

I'm just wondering if there is a chance the Hyatt Regency might consider installing a higher-speed air conditioning blower in the Grand Ballroom. This way I could have gone into complete shock instead of just freezing my a** off.

Ahh, this is why you should always, always bring long sleeve shirts or a sweater to the conference. This will be true even if the conference should some day be held in Death Valley, California.

The grand ballroom was the only place in that hotel that was cool. The rooms and the Big Bar certainly weren't that cool! As for the Diet Coke that whole town was filled with Pepsi!!!!!!!!!! very disturbing. The conference was great as usual.

I set my a/c in the room for 62 and it was still warm in there.

Ellen, ditto on the 62° and still warm. We called housekeeping and told them that we had lowered the thermostat & it did not appear to be working. She said lower it some more and call back if it still doesn't work----duhhhhh
Rooms too hot (mine) and rooms too cold (pretty much all the meeting rooms) was really my only problem with the hotel. But then I brought my own coke, I've learned the hard way.

I've learned to wear long underwear to seminars and conferences. I'm really sensitive to cold. Ankle high boots too, cause if my ankles freeze, all of me is frozen.
I don't drink much coffee, but during seminars, I am known to get a cup just to warm my hands!
