Just rammed my toes on a chair. I think I may have broken a toe. It hurts like the dickens and is turning nice colors.

when you're climbing down the ladder and you're thinking you're reaching for the last rung but it's the second to last or third to last rung, yet you step off I did that in a Rain Forest Cafe in Chicago coming down the stairs. I was mesmerized by the fish tank and missed a couple steps. Next thing I knew I was down on my knees wondering what happened Were you leaving or entering the café?

Strategically placed toys that are not picked up the night before. I love kicking a book or stepping on a Barbie trying to walk though the house in the dark.

I made up the rule that if I step on it, the toy goes in the garbage. The next night, no toys were left out. You know what hurts? Trying to sit down in a plane seat and catching the arm rest in your leg. Small planes are so awkward.

Wow QCL! So harsh! Retributive punishment doesn't work you know. Your kids will be warped for life.
We had the same rule when our two sons were young. If they're warped they keep it concealed pretty well.

I don't think QCL's daughter will be warped for life.

if someone threw out my stuff I may go off the deep end, seek vengence and possibly change my name
but that's just me, I'm probably a bit warped to begin with

I just clipped my hip on the corner of my desk. That'll be a bruise by morning.

Speaking of grass burrs, does anyone remember Merthiolate? The terror of the pre-school crowd when I was that young. I remember getting the odd scrap, stick, or cut and going through the excruciating ritual of having the injury painted with Merthiolate. Might as well have been a hot branding iron, the mercury-laden stuff was so miserable. Curiously, it did seem to promote healing.
We still have some in the medicine cabinet low these many years after it's banning. My wife thinks its great on fever blisters, mercury content be hanged.

Well, there you are! Spankings with wooden spoons! Pouring Merthiolate into wounds!
No wonder you ended up in compliance. You're warped for sure.
The country would be better off and compliance might not be so burdensome today if more parents had treated their kids to spankings, tossed toys, and Merthiolate.

One time my cousins and I believed the toys were gone, so they held me by the ankles upside down in the trash barrel so I could look for them. We got caught.

Mercurochrome replaced Merthiolate (at least in my house)when the determined that Merthiolate was considered a health hazard. but a few years later the found that putting metal (chrome part) in an open wound was not a good idea
Merthiolate burned more than Mercurochrome (I do not remember it burning)
