Are we going to have to manually count the number of entries, cell F3? I can't see where the CFPB tool is counting the entries or am I missing it? I tried reformatting the cell and entering a count formula beginning with cell C5 through cell C705 but the formula keeps showing as a text entry.

F3: I changed the format to General and then used COUNTA(C5:C725). It's working

out of the frying pan...
Does anyone know if there is a way to dump a download from platform software into this tool for scrubbing and submission?

Page 13 of the Instructions tells how to transfer data from another worksheet or Google Sheets but I didn't see anything about how to do it from platform software. You might experiment with exporting the file from the platform as a comma delimited file and copy it to the spreadsheet or contact your platform vendor.

Thanks, Dan. I read that part of the instructions but wasn't sure if I could figure out how to make it apply.

We pull the database from the LaserPro software files and open it with Excel. Then we copy the data we need into a separate Excel spreadsheet for manipulation. Just make sure you don't make any changes to the data in the database file. It might be an extra step but it would be better than re-keying I would think.

Right click on the cell or range of cells you want to change and choose Format Cells. It will then give you several options such as general, numbers, dates, etc.

I hadn't had a chance to chime in here.

1. Many vendors are planning solutions to give you a pipe delimited file. Ask your vendor what they are planning. Some are ready and waiting for the CFPB.

2. Re # of applications, it will be your last line used minus 4. So if your last application is on line 705, subtract 4 and report 701 applications if you don't are not familiar with or don't want to mess with formulas.
