Webster defines "dwelling" as "a shelter (such as a house) in which people live." This definition will apply in the absence of a specific definition limited to a law, regulation, or other type of rule. What's the context of your question? This forum is for lending compliance--which encompasses many different laws, regulations, and other types of rules. There are no universal definitions (other than Webster.)
