Don't you guys get normal weather there or is normal weather just a tornado?

We get about 3 months of nice weather a year (i'm trying to be realistic....i've X-ed out "6 weeks" and "2 months")......from about March 1 to mid-April and from about October 1 to mid-November....although April is tornado weather and October 1st can still be 95 degrees.

SC gets pretty hot inthe Midlands (100+). On a triple-digit day, my daughter brought a baking sheet to work, put some cookie dough on the tray, put it on the dashboard and rolled-up the windows.

For the afternoon break, there were 24 perfectly baked chocilate chip cookies for her group.

I think I would go for a dashboard cookie over a sidewalk egg if I had to choose.

i saw a recipe for "mailbox lasagna" where you essentially cook the lasagna in a pan in your mailbox. been hot enough here to do that, for sure.

with my luck, the mailman would take before it was ready, eat it, get sick, and sue me for food poisoning...lol

We got a hundredth of an inch of rain the other day, so optimism abounds.

way too much rain here this year, raining 5 of 7 days for the past 2 months, we are 10+ inches over normal YTD amounts

No idea just how much rain we've had, but this has been an exceptionally wet summer for us. We, too, are getting 4 - 5 days of rain every week.

Have more rain in the forecast this evening, then Tuesday through Saturday.

Clear skies and sunshine today, high in the upper 90's. Did have some hail over the weekend but it didn't make it my way.

Our area was slammed by flooding Wednesday night into Thursday. My family and I escaped with some superficial property damage. We have a lot of clean up ahead of us, but others weren't so fortunate.

Lightning sparked multiple fires around us last night. The closest was about 1/2 mile away and burned about 80 acres. We didn't have to evacuate but we packed the car just in case.

Not saying this is an accurate reading of yesterday's temperature, but it does show that it was HOT....yesterday when i jumped in my truck to leave at quitting time, the computer in it showed a temperature of 121....highest 'in vehicle' reading i've ever seen.

Calling for 104 today and tomorrow, BUT the forecast shows the pattern breaking some after that......starting next Monday, highs from 86-90 and several chances of rain. The drought (and heat) have been severe. Really looking forward to a change.

Reading this makes me glad to live a little farther north. Today is 71 and sunny

We were in Knoxville, IA, last week. It was warm during the day (upper 80s to low 90s), but the difference in humidity level compared to Georgia and Texas was wonderful. And it was breezy and down in the low 70s at night!

It's crazy how excited i am at the prospect of 88 degrees.

i feel your pain, today makes 2 entire days in a row we have not had rain over the past 60 days...essentially it has rained daily since the end of May...i'll take teh warmer weather for a few days if it lets us dry out...

Yes, it's crazy to me that we have this extreme drought and places just a couple/few states away have had these crazy flood events. Neither is ideal....wish we could all just get the amount of rain and heat we need.
