We are an out of state lender with a portfolio of Maryland mortgages. Our state is not required to pay interest on escrow funds held for those mortgages in our state. However, should we be paying interest to those escrow accounts for our Maryland mortgages? If so, at what rate?

I believe you need to pay interest annually at a rate of 3% or your bank's savings rate (whichever is higher).
