Is it illegal if a group of bank employees want to buy lottery tickets as a group?

people do it all the time.. think about those teachers in some unknown state.. actually now that I think about it I think they all worked in the cafeteria, well they all bought into it and split the money down the middle. its a pool, no big deal.

The only problem I see with it is if they win, you're going to be awfully short-staffed the next day!

When you go, don't purchase tickets separately with your own money. Imagine try to convince the group that it was your own personal ticket that won!

How are you going to control what your employees do on their personal time? What is the difference in purchasing as a group vs purchasing as an individual? The odds of winning are so astonomically AGAINST winning that I don't think there is anything to worry about. We have a group at my bank that does this-they have won $250 3 times in the last 10 years. And they have to split this 5 ways.
