GIR is a stress reliever. You say it hard and with your teeth clenched. This is an especially popular term in February of each year and sometimes into March.
It may be replaced seasonally with FCRA, pronounced fic-ra. When you are asked what you are working on, you can reply "GIRRRRR" or "fic-ra" and you will often feel better.
Actually, as far as I have seen it, Dan the Man was the first I saw use the term "GIR" as well as the "OSC" and each has stuck instead of pronouncing out "Getting it Right" and the "Official Staff Commentary" or "Commentary" for short.
