In a forest clearing dark and eerie
The evening traveler grows weary
Of seeking the long lost, faded light
So call out the spirits, the monsters, the ghouls
We’ll dance and sing and laugh like fools
And breathe in deep the chill tonight
We chant and parade ‘round the circle of flames
With horrors so great we once feared their names
Now death and fear are what we seek
The dead with their whispering eyes now have risen
Titans break now the chains of their eternal prison
So listen, enthralled to their words as they speak:
“Tonight is the night when the spirits roam free
Tonight we will rise in our dark revelry
Tonight, such sights your eyes shall see!
For tonight is the night of All Hallows’ Eve!”
The midnight moon rises o’er lands so estranged
(The world of old days—now unscarred and unchanged)
And the creatures raise their heads to the sky
The most silent of silence with withered words speaks
‘Till the dawn rises over the high mountain peaks
And we’ll creep then away as the night passes by
But for now we will sing, and for now we’ll forget
That the night will be over, and lose our regret
Tonight we will dance with our pain now relieved
The bats are alight and the bonfires burning
A full moon watches us on our Earth turning
For tonight is the night of All Hallows’ Eve.
