LOVE.....is when you love someone so much that your heart aches for them. You want to be with them 24/7. Your happiness depends on making your mate happy. You love absolutely everything about them: faults and all. Love is not looking into each others eyes, but both of you looking in the same direction.

In saying your happiness depends on making your mate happy? Do you mind sharing what you mean by that?
My reason for asking is because I use to think that way - but I realized I have to find happiness within myself before I can be a part of someone else's happiness. Otherwise all you end up doing is trying to please someone else and losing yourself.
Maybe love IS about losing yourself.

When you find that someone that makes your heart ache, then you will understand what I mean. Love is not about losing yourself but becoming one with another in the sense that everything you do revolves around each other. Your sense of happiness falls within what makes your mate happy.
I have loved like that once in my life and although he is no longer a part of it, I dont regret it for one bit. True love is real and you will know it when it finds you. Lustful love is merely an obsession and passes with fancy.
