TB, the greater issue with racism is this: is it intentional and harmful. If you are coming from the angle that we need to be free of all forms and 'crutches' of and to racism. This is idealistic and a bit unrealistic (although hopefully not to unrealistic) but this is where I am and I hope where you are as well. However, I have a feeling that you are a bit racist as it seems like you are coming from the "PC is inherently bad" or "But they are doing it" angle.
The 'need' for a Miss Black America contest is because they are not a majority. The issue and explanation for this is the same as the one I gave for BET/WET. Or said another way, traditionally, celebrating black culture is more of a reminder that there IS racism, whereas celebrating white culture is more an sentiment that racism is good. Like it or not.

You don't seem top understand Colmes' role. He is on Fox to provide weak arguments. The conservatives want to hear their views prevail, not the other way around.
