It should warm to 63 today, absolutely clear blue skies here in Central Texas. May go home early today!

Send some of that here to New Hampshire. As the previous poster said - we are expecting a heavy blanket of snow. Can we send some to you?

Allan, you bet. But just enough to play in, in the yards not the streets and during the daylight hours only.

Kinda picky aren't you? With snow you either get it or you don't. Personally, I prefer that it all fall in the mountains so we can ski but old Ma Nature doesn't take orders. So, while you bask in your sunshine, we are stocking the larders, getting out the kerosine lamps, lining up the shovels, firing up the snowblowers, and putting enough beer in the fridge for recovery time. Maybe i'll retire to central Texas - I think i'd like your kind of weather.

Well of all your check list, we only have the beer in the fridge. Sounds like a pretty good retirement to me. At least for this weekend.

Actually- she does! But when I logged on to her website to request some nice weather, I was informed that all of the sunshine was already booked to Killeen, Texas.

Meanwhile, the past 12 hours here have brought some snow, rain, sleet, and hail! Talk about diversity!

Where do you live? We got a dusting of snow last night and have had about 3 days of rain. The ground is saturated. The temperature today will rise to the freezing mark.

Not just Killeen...it's extended all the way over to East Texas also! I hate to say it though, it is still a little nippy this morn for me

Gonna have me a talk with old Ma Nature. In the meantime - as Mark Twain said..."if you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute." We cling vainly to hope for that occasional day of sunshine in an otherwise bleak winter sky.

Supposed to be nice and sunny here in central Oklahoma with a high in the mid-50s. Saw the news people in various parts of the northeast on the Today show this morning - and they talked about the freezing rain stinging their faces, but were expecting it to turn to snow later this morning. I'm glad to be where I am today - hate dealing with slick streets and crazy drivers who don't know how to slow down in that stuff!

And up to North TX, too! It was a bit frosty this AM, but it's going to the upper 50s this PM and into the mid-60s by Sunday. Bring on the sun! We'll watch y'all slipping around in the snow on the news.

Crazy drivers. Now that's a subject that I could develop a real rant over. Seems like there are more and more people who came from somewhere else. If you grew up with coping with snow, you know what your limits are. I can't believe the fools in their SUVs who insist on going 80 mph talking on their cellphones. I get a good laugh when I see one in a snowbank. I guess winter in New England has it's own entertainment. Maybe it's me. Maybe I've gone bonkers.

Y'all come on down, we have plenty of room and sunshine. And I'll let you help with HMDA scrubbing if you have some time.

This has been a strange year for winter weather. The east coast is getting hit hard. The upper midwest is barely getting anything. I'm even used to getting ready for the series of subzero temps we usually get this time of year but they say we will be hitting around 30 all week. Not to bad for January. But when is the hammer going to fall????

While I have spent most of my life in OK, I was fortunate enough to have parents who grew up in northern Illinois and taught me how to drive in the snow.

West Texas reporting in with warm, sunny weather as well! I get to go home early today, too - to meet the exterminators who will be performing a very costly procedure to get rid of termites. I think I'd rather fight the snow and ice!!

Weenies. We had 300" last year. Had 4 feet this year by Thanksgiving. Send grass before my memory of it fades.

Then you understand my ranting. It isn't rocket science to know how to drive in the snow and ice. It's common sense but that seems lacking in large measure. Watch out for the crazies.

Hey, it's not suppose to get out of the 30's here in Birmingham, Alabama today and be breezy, cloudy and just miserable. Less than 2 weeks ago it was over 65 degrees and sunny......had our family Christmas lunch on the deck that day.

I look forward to a better day.

I have real issues with the way people drive. It seems there is no happy medium. You either get the guy/gal in the 4 wheel drive that thinks they can stop in less than 10 feet on ice or the overly cautious who believe even though the snow is plowed off the roads that some how a drifting snowflake will send them into a tailspin so they better not go faster than 10 miles per hour.
