Why? You already told me what I thought. You aren't doubting yourself, are you?

No, as an evil, reactionary, arrogant, misogynist, racist, homophobe, white male, I never do that.

I'm illustrating that, in fact, that is exactly what you were implying, despite your attempts to play the victim after getting called on it.

Poor Kerry. That man cannot speak in public, he's too robotic and he never connected in an emotional way to the people. I'm glad he's not running again, for his own sake if nothing else. I don't particularly want to see Hillary Clinton run either. I don't know about anyone else but I'm SICK of Clintons, Bushes, Kennedys (Kennedies?) and all the rest of the entrenched politicos.

No, I have a pretty good vocabulary and if I wanted to say theft I would have said it. I said shenanigans. I know in your black and white world there is no room for something grey, but it got pretty grey in Ohio in 2004.

And you forgot xenophobic.

majority of the female and black votes

TR - I question that Hillary would get the majority of female votes. I just did a quick office poll, 33 females work in my group, only 1 said she would vote a Hillary ticket. Besides, she has major cankles, and no woman in her right mind would vote cankles into the presidency (okay, the last part was unscientific research)

are those same ladies as naturally "objective" as Nascar is?

(just giving you a hard time Nascar! seriously, my real point is that i also agree that women arent going to vote for her just because she is a woman. and if they are, i see yet another reason to bring back pure electoral congress other than the redneck-i'll-flock-with-that-too-good-to-be-true-rhetoric-you're-throwing-out vote)

i'm taking it that both of you are independent-minded people who when faced with bush or kerry chose what you viewed as the lesser of 2 evils. right?

Frankenkerry may be bowing out, but can I correctly assume that he still gets free ketchup?

That's right and I still think so. Ain't crazy about a lot of the things that have gone down during Geo. W.'s time, but I would still stand behind him if my only other alternative was Kerry....

good answer! (i would just ask for an additional "...and hopefully, next election will have better candidates for both sides because i don't want my choice to be 'lesser of 2 evils' again" but i'll take it nonetheless!)

I voted for Bush in 2000 based on the lesser of two evils theory, but at that time we didn't know that much about Bush. After one disasterous term, I don't understand how any one could think of Bush as the lesser of two evils matched up against ANYONE (and I mean anyone to have ever lived on this earth... well except for Cheney). I would have voted for my pet cat over Bush.

Well, tell me more about your cat. What's his stand on immigration? How does he feel about stem cell research? Does he have a plan for Iraq? Is he a uniter and decider?

A cat sounds good in theory.

But what’s to be done when it licks itself and then denies it?

Is that considered sexual relations?

Also, what’s its middle name?

The cat's name is Max (no middle name).

He was a stray, so he is sympathetic to the cause of immigration.

He has as well defined a plan for Iraq as anyone in Washington.

We now also have a dog, and Max has "crossed the aisle" so to speak to promote bispecies relations.

And don't knock that ability to lick himself... it's a quality many wished they possessed.

Max for President in 2008 -- Vote DemoCatic

Back to the subject...Senator Reid, responding to Senator Kerry's announcement:

Quote:
"So I say to John Kerry, I love you John Kerry. And I’m so sorry that things didn’t work out for our country, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that I will always care about you greatly and remember the times we’ve spent together."

Good grief...

Last election, my cat was running. TICG, maybe Dante could be Max's VP. Can't do much worse than what we have now.

I threw away my vote to Nader because I couldn't stomach either of the other 2...
