I originally posted this question in the BSA forum but wanted to get the opinion here as well. We have always called ChexSystems on authorized signers for business accounts (that is our way of checking OFAC). In a recent webinar, they stated that these type of negative database inquiries cannot be made on authorized signers for business accounts without their written consent. Since we are using ChexSystems for our OFAC checks would this be considered a permissible purpose?

Chex Systems has different levels of inquiries that are available. You might want to discuss this with your account rep, since you don't need or want the full inquiry.
